My 3 year old daughter, Rhiannon, had urine challenge test done and showed elavated levels of aluminum, lead and tin. Dan doctor recommends oral chelation, and while my husband and I are considering this, in the meantime her dr. prescribed glutathione cream 2x daily for detox. My question is has any parents tried using this, and if so, any marked improvements in their childs behaviour? Rhiannon is non-verbal and has lately been stimming more than ever(pulling hair, waving her hand, etc. ) Thanks---We did for several months..smells horrible huh?? It did rid her of her high lead though:) No side effects other than the skunky pee-eew!!
We never saw any noticable improvements in behavior but later testing showed that the cream had raised her glut levels to normal.
Glutathione cream is interesting as my 8 yr autistic boy is currently on a food protein concentrate that goes under the name Immunocal.
It is basically milk that contains dipeptide cystine (2 cysteine amino acids joined together)...which eventually gets into cells to form cysteine.
Cysteine, combined with glycine and glutamate, makes glutathione which is a known and proven antioxidant.
Changes will not be so rapid...but give it time...
With improved levels of glutathione, coupled with increased ability to handle "toxins"...who knows?? It might just work... At least we are hopeful...
