HI ALL, I met someone recently a man who is such a great guy, He too has full custody of his 5yr. old son.His son is aspergere's and attending a school in our area in sept. strange as it sounds when you meet someone in online dating that they too have a child on the SPECTRUM what a coincidence!!!lol..and live n work so close to us.His son just graduated from the same school my son attended, hes in a different classroom then christian..so yesterday we invited him and his son over for a bbq which it was rained out so we had pizza instead..hes such a nice man and his son is a sweetheart.This opened my eyes to how different the SPECTRUM really is..His son does alot of stimming and likes trains and can read the signs I do know here there are some of you that have 1 maybe 2 or 3 on the spectrum and they are different as well. Christian was havin a one of his days where he was mostly defiant with mommy but for the most part was great b/c with him in his school hes exxposed to all different types of special kids so for him his new friend wasn't a difference to him.But he wasnt understanding why he didn't wanna play with cars but he put together a jigsaw puzzle which Christian has never been able to do, but christian brought out his trains and was showing his new friend so it was nice he was sharing.If anything doesnt work out with the dad and I at least IM thankful to have a met a new friend and Christian as well.But I got a education on the difference of this SPECTRUM and I am glad that we can both have something in common to talk about and I have been gving some resources locally which he didnt know about and vice versa so now I can read these posts from some of you and see that 1 of your children is not like the other which we all know not 2 kids on the spectrum are exactly alike..His son was the quiet type where mine has the aggressiveness and defiance and the seizures.This site is so educating and IM so grateful to have met great friends here. THANKS EVERYONE
