Our school district will be closing my DS's school at the end of the year. Initially they said they would be moving his entire class - staff and students - to a new location. Today when I dropped DS off at school, one of the aides pulled me aside and told me that I need to write letters to school officials because they are changing the plan now. They still intend to move the class - students and teacher - to the new location. But, the aides' positions are being eliminated and new positions created at the new location.
This is really upsetting because this group of aides knows the children so well and have special training to work with each of them. Plus the transition to a new location is going to be difficult enough without chaning 3 of the 4 staff members on top of it. I am in the process of writing a letter now and would love any ideas for specific arguments to use in my letter.
