I live in Ohio and they raised our cig tax also so everyone we know is going to Indiana and Kentuck just for .00 a carton if you get two cartons you have saved 9.00 and spent 5 for gas

Ohio also passed a "SIN TAX" recently. I'm not sure how much tax was added to cigarettes but I pay my bills in our local smokers shop and I couldn't beleive the amount of people who are back to rolling there own.
I also found out my trash pickup went up because they added a landfill fee to the bill.

Sin tax because it was added cigarettes and alcahol that is how they presented it. I never read over the law but I'm told they added alot more to it then just going after adictive habits.

Yeah you smokers are all considered sinners by the state of OHIO. Not my personal opion but I do wish everyone could just quit for there own wellbeing and put the tabacco companies out of business. I hate to see them getting rich with a harmful product.
They passed the 75 cent tax per pack on cigarettes yesterday to balance the budget. They hope to raise 405 million in two years by this. I got news for them, they will be lucky if they see 20 million. People will buy them online, go out of state and get them, or gee there is always the black market. And the state didn't put anymore money into law enforcement to help stop the black market of cigarettes. The governor said this is not a new tax. If it is isn't I would like to know what he considers a new tax as.
