Has anyone been to a Naturopath? | Autism PDD

Share

My son Noah is mildly affected with ASD.  Our biggest issues with him are scripting movies and his frustration levels.

I'm just wondering if anyone has been to a naturopath?  We have an appointment in June and I'm not sure what to expect.

Thanks a lot.

Actually ...
I get most of our supps from a health food shop
where I am often served by a young lady
who is a naturopath

she is very knowledgeable
she has been extremely helpful
we are not into the more ummmm... exotic things they sell
but that aside
I get more nutritional info from her than I ever get from our doctor
frankly, he is an idiot

No our allergist uses lots of Natural remedies. He's a Dan dr. We find what daniel eats depends on how his behavior is daily. He uses 1 herb/supplements. No corn products makes him hyper/allergie also.  Valerian root liquid calms him fast. Epr oil helps also. Balances hormones. He calls them his foot ball pills. Him/Mom have a morning vitamin race he loves this then it's agame for him. Take with juice.

I am an osteopath (or an osteopathic physician technically), a DO, and I have talked with and discussed cases with several naturopaths (or naturopathic docs) called NDs.  Naturopathic docs are not licensed to practice medicine in VA.  Most ND schools are in the western
US.  NDs are docs who are sort of a cross between MDs, DOs, Herbalists, and Nutritionists...If there are any NDs here, please forgive my oversimplification of your profession.

What to expect varies from doc to doc, but medical history, allergies, diet, and exposure to environmental pollutants will probably be covered.  Please let us know how it goes...And find out which school the doc went to!
