DVD based course on ABA | Autism PDD

Share

Hi

Moderator, geuine and sincere apologies if I am breaking any rules here, and I will remove this immediately if I am causing any issue ...

I am project managing the development of a multimedia course on the principles and key skills in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and the target audience is parents, family members and guardians.  We are nearing completion of the first five modules, (ten planned) focused on introducing the audience to ABA, followed by specific skill sets such as precision teaching and using visual schedules.

I am not sure whether an equivalent course is available elsewhere, certainly we have not come across one... yet!  If you know of one, please PM me the details.

We are looking for families and qualified professionals who would be interested in taking the rough cut of just two of the five modules and looking at them for us, assessing them and giving us honest and constructive feedback.

This is just a bunch of PhDs who are all experienced and expert practitioners working at the coal face who see the need for this course given the paucity of resources available (in Ireland) to the parents of children with ASD / PDD.  It has been suggested that other countries may have similar problems / interests...

Our aim is to make the course available this year at as low a price as possible.  To access the rough cut, you would probably need broadband as there is a lot of video clips to illustrate the main learning objectives in the course, albeit we will probably have to burn the whole course onto DVDs in any event.  The course is developed using the www.articulate.com platform so if you use PowerPoint...

If anyone is interested, you can PM me if you do not want to post here.

Thanks

Kieran Hanrahan
