You might to post his in the parents of autistic children you will get more veiws and help..
Does he have extra support with him in school (education assistant). My son is almost 7 and is finishing Grade 1 and he needs the extra help to focus and stay on task. I think school is very overwhelming and there are lot more rules than preschool. Is it possible for you to volunteer in the classroom?
The stims probably help him cope in a more challenging environment. You'll need to find out what starts them to help prevent them. Communicate with his teacher to find out more.
It sounds like you had one year of intervention and then the help stopped when he started kindergarten(?) Do you mean he was mainstreamed w/out any support? Does he have an IEP plan? There is no reason why he should have to be struggling this way. Keep reading and searching these threads and you will learn so much. This has happened with my son, too, who is the same age. I am constantly there and have had others from district come in to help.
