I have lived this this week.  I have applied for an EDCD waiver and am working on DD waiver.  I was denied SSI on the spot during the intake interview because we have too many resources...I sure don't benefit from them, but they're there!  For the MR waiver, your child has to take the standard IQ test.  Not going to happen!  Besides, no one thinks that Andrew is MR.  It's crazy here in VA.  I AM thankful for his public education which is wonderful as he is in SECEP, the regional autism program, but I suppose it will be a big uphill battle from now on...

Signing off in VA....

This is good at all..how sad. Virginia Greys39205.3332291667Definetly dealing with this in FL right now with the recent budget cuts to our Agency for Persons with Disabilities,  the Medwaiver in our state.  The waiting list is already 3-5 years long, now it will be longer, and those receiving services will lose some.  I just don't understand what these legislators are thinking.  We need to make sure they hear from us.

Sounds about like what we have going on here... NC.  I really don't think a lot of people see the big picture in all of this!
