Fort Worth/Tarrant County TX | Autism PDD

Share

We are considering relocation to the Fort Worth area. I have an 11 year old son with high functioning autism. Will be mainstreamed into regular ed classrooms, but will need resource room for math and reading.

Would love to know best areas for schools and such. Also areas to avoid.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Debbie

Thanks Amy for replying with the info. I really appreciate it. We have lived in the Plano and Lewisville areas, and we sure did not have good luck with those school districts. Not good at all. But I have heard some positive things about the Ft. Worth area including your comments.

Thanks Again!

Debbie

I live in the Lewisville area so i am fairly familiar with Ft Worth and Tarrant County. I have heard that Southlake is really good- that is not too far from
Ft. Worth. I have also heard Grapevine is good too.  My best advice is to go to autismspeaks.org and go to family services for TX.  I had alot of luck with that- UNT has an Autism Invervention Program that provides consultation services and alot of great advice.  I would also recommend going online to all the ISD's you are considering. Good luck- don't hesitate to send a private message if need be!
