We are a military family and will be relocating in a year or so, Anchorage, Alaska is an option. What can we expect for our five year old high functioning autistic daughter? Is there a specific school that has better programs?
We also have a HS junior; what schools are best and which should be avoided?
Last, but not least - neighborhood information (good, bad, expensive, affordable, etc) would be appreciated.

There is a WONDERFUL and very knowledgeable special education lawyer in Alaska -- Sonja Kerr nalaof608@yahoo.com It couldn't hurt to email her and ask where she would recommend settling. I'm sure she knows all the schools up there.
Also, go to www.wrightslaw.com and click on Yellow Pages for Kids. Then go to Alaska. You'll find a list of recommended contacts in Alaska. Perhaps there are organizations there that can give you info.
