behavior modification therapy | Autism PDD

I actually have an educational counselor that has a doctrine in educational law that will be attending this IEP with me.  I'm trying to make a list of everything my son would benefit from and cognitive-behavioral therapy would be extremely helpful since he has some behavioral problems.  I just wanted your opinions since i value them so much!

Good luck and tell us how ya do it and how it works!

My son will be attending a middle school next year that has an on-site autism coach.  She will work with him on social skills, etc.  My question is, do you think i should request actual behavior modification therapy in my IEP meeting?  The IEP meeting will be held on the 30th of this month and I'm thinking they will just say that the site coach will use behavior modifications, but she's not an expert in this area.  Will i be laughed at if i request this specific therapy to be implemented in my son's IEP?  When in doubt - write it out. If it isn't written it didn't happen...those are 2 of my mottos.

Write it out with great care in making your language explicit.

Do you care if they laugh

(that is what I am working on ... ).

Since you have an advocate, I would use that advocate for advice.  The last thing a pro wants is for you to be double-checking with others on his or her recommendations.  He or she is being paid to be your personal expert. Use that expertise.  The advocate is the one in the trenches with you and has far more pertinent information than any of us does.  Certainly, putting everything in writing is key, but lean on your advocate to help you put all your ducks in a row.as usual you're right Tzoya.  I will let everyone know how it went next week.
