help in Canada? | Autism PDD

I know someone who suspects that her infant daughter may have some sensory processing issues.  They live in Edmonton, Alberta.  She would like to have her daughter evaluated by an occupational therapist.

Do any of you know if there are any free or low cost early intervention services in Canada, like we have here in the USA?

Thanks!

Your friend should be able to get a referral from her family doc. to see an OT. There should be no cost for an infant to be assessed.

Alberta is the only province in Canada that recognizes ASD as a medical condition and treatment is covered to the age of 18.
