Yes.  I would answer the questions with a NT kid in mind and answer them by comparing your son to what would be expected of a 17yo.  You can look to see if this instrument is MEANT for 16 yo's. Does he have a Vineland II?  That will show adaptation to the world that might be used to show an ASD.  I don't think you'd be lying or doing ANYTHING unethical by doing saying "no" to questions like the one you mentioned.  The whole point of any test is to show how and where he is different. Keep that in mind while you're answering the questions.

I did the GADS.  The teacher did the GADS.  The atuism coach also did the GADS.

Can't wait to compare notes ...

I just went to this website
http://www.massgeneral.org/schoolpsychiatry/screeningtools_t able.asp

and it said for the GADS test...that it's suppose to be filled out by a clinician...so why is the school psychologist asking me to fill it out?
Virginia Greys39191.8878587963No- the GADS needs to be administered by a psychologist/ clinician.  Administration and filling out the questionnaire are 2 different things.
GADS is not the best instrument,  but there are not that many great ones to choose from.  The point is to document the need for educational services.
Maybe unethical, but I would err on the side of "over" identifying problems rather than under identifying.  Not playing with same age peers is a problem...
Thoughts?  Is this an accurate way to test for Aspergers?

I guess my problem with it, is that it is asking in an 6 hour time frame...and there are many 6 hours that my son isn't doing a lot of the things it asks....but then given another 6 hours and the situation...he would.

Another is asking if he plays with children.  One...he's 17...and yes he plays with other kids...usually though they are younger than him ....not his peers.

Did I say how much I hate doing these types of tests?
