I was banned! lol | Autism PDD

That is sad because how exactly are you suppose to share information.  This is why we come here is to broaden our knowlege so we can provide the very best care to our children and to help each other out in a time of need.

Thank goodness this site exists!

It just depends on what was in the tos or term of service agreement.  Some boards have it where you cannot post links at all.  Some boards have it where if you currently don't have a diagnosis, or are new to the diagnosis, your posting rights are limited.  I know on my cowboys forum some people would post premium content from espn.  Well that is prohibited on that message board.  Some boards have premium content where you pay a fee to see it and if you post it somewhere else you can get banned.  So it really depends on what was in the tos.

Amber,

I'm sorry that you had that experience with another board.  Just remember that you are welcome here!!  LOL

That's terrible Amber, but you are funny girl, glad it didn't get to you! LOL...I feel bad if the other members have no other outlet though...this board is just the best and full of great info, resources and support...I recommended it to two mom's I know w/ kids on the spectrum...haven't seen them yet...but I know when they do get around to checkin' it out, it will be a good experience!

hugs!

I wanted to respond to this.

We don't ban people here at the message boards for posting websites or because we don't agree with them. If you are familar with our boards it's clear we promote debate and the free exchange of information.

What we have been trying to control is off topic posts of a personal nature. This makes it difficult for others to get the information they are looking for. The complaints I receive are from new users and some existing users who have to wade through dozens of personal message threads before they can get the help they are looking for.

To help eleviate this problem we have created a message board section for personal exchanges. This will make easier for people to converse with off topic discussions and make it easier for those who can get to the information on the on topic boards.

I hope this clears up any missconceptions you may have had.  Oh by the way, it is called the Hangout Room located at the bottom of the forums.

Kindest Regards,

Ernest

Neato! Thanks for replying Ernest! I love this board so I'm happy I found it.

I'm still laughing. I can't believe how ridiculous one of the sites is I have recently been visiting. It had an autism message board so I thought I'd register and check it out. I only registered 3 days ago and I've already been banned TWICE! For absolutely no reason too. They have pages and pages of posting rules and apparently you can't post anything lol.

The first time I was banned for helping someone who had a post on sensory issues and I gave her a website to refer to. I guess you can't post websites! So I emld them and they agreed to release my ban. So I went in and posted more today and I was banned again! I guess because somewhere on page million you can't post anything about the administrators decisions either. And I had posted a reply to someone telling them that I hadn't gotten back to them because i had been banned for posting a website but I was back now. That's it! I emld them and said their site was ridiculous as you can't post anything helpful to others and can't even speak your mind or opinions. I told them they could keep banning me as I wasn't coming back lol. Sorry just had to share.

How RIDICULOUS!!!!

I'm speechless....that doesn't happen very often

God Bless you all & keep you all safe!
