Pesticide/Insecticide? | Autism PDD

My dr says that my son has pest/insect poisioning and he wants to chelate...Does anyone have experience with this?? His heavy metal testing came out low to moderate..

My daughter is a year and a half into the DAN protocol and my son has been doing it officially for a year (but we started a few months after dd started).

We haven't begun chelation yet? His gut isn't healed yet (candida)...But he did mention DMSA at our first visit...We do epsom salt baths daily and try to eat as much organic as possible..

Uhuh? I thought chelating agents only pulled metals, not toxins. That is something you need to look into. How we are handling the toxins is reducing or eliminating it from their diet by going as organic as we can afford and using supplements to help the body detoxify itself...lot of antioxidants. You ought to join the yahoo group chelatingkids2 and ask this question because someone will be able to answer this question. That just doesn't sound right, unless he is aware of some heavy metals that are in certain pesticides.

Also, if what he pulled from the chelating agent was low, the doc (provided he knows what he is doing) can do another challenge with a different chelating agent. Each chelating agent pulls differently with each child and tends to pull certain metals better than others.
