Autism Resource Help in Northern Illinois | Autism PDD

Hi, I'm hoping someone out there can help. I am currently looking for a home for a young couple that is transferring to The Great Lakes Area in the North Chicago Suburbs. They Have a child with, as they have told me, slight autism. I am not sure what exactly that term means and I do not want to offend anyone with that description... I'm just repeating what was told to me. I am trying to find a school that she can bring him to that has the capabilities to help with her special needs child in or near the area of Waukegan, Lake Bluff, Gurnee or other surrounding areas. I think there may be such a facility and I'm looking for a name so that I can get the information to her and she can contact them directly to see if their care will work for her. I appreciate ALL and EVERY response. Thank you so very much for reading through this post. I'm not sure that I can leave a contact phone number, so I will wait to see if that is allowed. Thank you again.

I found it!!!!!!!

the Great Lakes Naval Base is in the Northern Suburban Special Education district. heres the link   http://www.nssed.k12.il.us/  then click on services, and voila!!!!

I saw you posted twice, wanted to make sure you got the info.  I used to say my son is mildly autistic.  That pretty much meant I was in denial because he seemed normal to me, except for some "mild resemblence" to autism.  They probably have a high functioning child, and they may be in the process of diagnosis.  No offense taken here, but  that's just my story.
