What's the difference between perseverating and stimming? Does perseverating refer to the obsessions that occupy the mind while stimming refers to repetitive behaviors? Kind of an inward/outward thing?

????  I would like to know too because this is the first time I have heard the word perseverating.  Kinda curious now..LOL

OK back....I found this on an autism site!!

Perseverating:
Many children become expert on very narrow topics on which they amass detailed information that they repeat excessively. They do not understand the concept of turn taking and are insensitive to the need for other people to have their interests integrated into a conversation.

So this would be quite different than stimming.  Ok I get it now..LOL
