I find going to the "poor" stores, reused goods, yields alot of bargains. In Canada we have Goodwill and Value Village. I can get a pack of practically unused cards for 1.99. Also gotten the videos for the same price; Bumblebee, Sesame Street,BoB the Builder etc. Also a great place for testing out toys, instead of paying 20-30 for a toy they'll never use again, you can get a used one for a couple bucks. Some days the pickins is slim but on other days you'll be patting yourself on the back for all the dough you saved. Oh yea, don't forget the books, whole lot of books and can test out what appeals to your child.
