Yes I was on mag sulfate with my oldest son who is borderline pdd-nos. I was also overdosed on it and ended up with burns on my temples as it sweat out of me and ate the metal earpieces of my glasses. Both myself and my son felt the effects of the mag for 5 days after I was off of it. (DS didn't cry for almost 5 days, and I was still having blackouts were I would suddenly fall asleep up to 5 days after I was off of it)
Though, we don't think it was the mag per se that was the bigger factor in ds problems, but rather the 13 weeks of high BP and my sickness that had to cause at least some oxygen problems to him (especially since he gained very little weight during those 13 weeks).
I was also on pitocien, stadol, and finally an epidural with my oldest along with the mag. I was also on pitocen and an epidural with my youngest.
It is also speculated that my family has some allergies to sulfar and sulfate products as I had bad bad reactions to the mag and to other sulfer and sulfate drugs, so its possible my kids also are prone to allergies too.
Hmmm...didn't really see any earth shaking info...one interesting thing about potocin also being a possible cause. I may be pessimistic, but I really don't see taking a bath with epsom salts making a difference. Thanks for the links though...it was some interesting reading.Any other mom's out there get put on Magnesium Sulfate during their pregnancies? I was overdosed on it, and was in a coma. I just wondered if there is any link to autism. I am googling it right now, but I thought I would ask you guys too! (since you're all the smartest people I know!)
