I am in the States so I don't know what kind of evaluation process that you have there in the UK. But I would recommend finding a place that will listen to your concerns and getting a full evaluation done for him. It sounds to me that the place that your taking him to is missing something here. From what you have mentioned about your son....he does seem to have autistic traits. There are some other parents here from the UK and maybe they can help getting you information on where to go for an eval. Welcome to the board!!

I would then take a notebook and go through all the info you have gathered and make notes specific to each characteristic of the disorder and how your child relates to that characteristic (meaning write down the things he does that describe the symptom listed if its spins objects write down spins objects spins in the chair, spins the wheels on matchbox cars for hours at a time, watches tops spin, spins pencils, etc) I would then gather as much info as possible and make as thourough report yourself as possible and take that with you to the doctor. Basically you may have to self diagnose him and educate the doctor.
