Is CDSA the local early intervention agency? I am in NC, but Tony was 2 yrs 10 mo old when we received the dx of PDD NOS (back in 1997). You may want to contact TEACCH... Chapel Hill may be the closest location, but they are affiliated with University of NC. In NC, they are highly respected in their assessments especially for autism. At the least, someone at TEACCH can probably refer you.

if your child (that is under 3) is diagnosed as PDD or autism through a private doctor or resource, who do you contact about receiving publically funded birth-3 services. We got for an eval next month and I am just forward thinking - as we all have to be. So far all our services are paid by us, but if it all possible, it would be nice to have some help in the financial department (if we qualify, I guess).
Anyhow, more specifically, we live in Wake County and he has already been seen (many months ago) by the CDSA (our local birth-3) and did not qualify for services at that time. If he does get diagnosed do I just call them back and does he have to be seen and evaluated AGAIN by them in order to quailfy for any services?
Anyone from this area have a clue? He won't be 3 until May 2008.
