I have heard really good things about RDI, although I haven't done it with my kids. I have a friend who went to Dr. Gutstein's training and really loves it. This website http://www.autismteachingtools.com is done by a Mom that I really respect, and she has just started an RDI yahoo group. The link to join the group is at the bottom of the web page. That might be a good resource for asking RDI questions.Well I sure didn't start very well - Sorry. Have any parents
participated in the RDI (Relationship Development Intervention) program
for autistic children? I would appreciate any information or
opinion of this program. I saw it listed as a Conference
but would rather have your input. Thanks.
I am hoping to go to my first conference to get started with my kids in
November. I am very excited about starting, and compared with other
programs, the cost doesn't seem to be very high. It seems really quite
reasonable. But I still have to save up!
Anyway, everything i know about it seems perfect for me and my boys.
ABA still frightens me. I think it is great for some families, and have
seen it work, but for us, I think RDI may be the answer!
We're thinking of starting RDI in November. Don't know much about about
it but everything I've heard it very good. We already do ABA, RDI is
more the parent part of things- so hopefully RDI will give us some
pointers on how to interact with DS.
For those interested in learning more about RDI, besides the Connections Center web site (http://www.rdiconnect.com) there is a yahoo group called RDI-Mid-Atlantic that I would recommend: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RDI-Mid-Atlantic/
