I live in Virginia and have a 17 year old autistic son. There is a possibility that I will be working for a firm in Pasadena, but out of my home in Virginia. However, I may need to come to Pasadena this summer to get established and will need to bring my son with me. Can anyone provide me with some resources/options for my son while I'm working. I'm not familiar with what is in the area, and this will all be new to both of us, so I'm very nervous about it and would appreciate any recommendations you can provide. Thanks. I would contact these people and ask what they think or what kind of things they may have to help you. Good luck centers have a community resource library for families. www.lanterman.org Also, I just got a referral for a well-regarded developmental ped. in Pasadena: Dr. Diane Danis (626) 792-2711, her office specializes in autism and may have some leads for you. I forgot the Help Group. www.helpgroup.org they run several private schools for autistic/asperger's/NLD kids and have summer "camps" on their campuses during summer. Their closest campuses to Pasadena would be in the "Valley". Here are some current articles on www.autism.about.com which you may find helpful:
