Three opinions can't hurt, if you need me as well...
Just off the cuff...I think that 5 to 7 pages is probably too long, but reading the letter first would help me to confirm that. I would think that 2 to 3 pages at the most is plenty. Remember, you can use addendums and copies presented with your letter as opposed to detailing everything in your letter.
You can send it to me too if you want. I can write a GREAT letter ... my attorney has told me so. LOL!
Im going to drive you all bonkers this week im sure
Ok so after a long long long day I have finished my rough draft of the letter I need to send to request the outside evaluation. Even though they may or may not accept what the outside evaluator says
Anyways what size font and what type of font is the most professional. I dont want it to be to small because I wrote a lot and I dont want them to get lost in my words lol. Oh and how long is to long ?? haha I wanted to get the whole story across and I thought I did the short version but in 10 pt font its 5 pages and 12 pt its 7 page eeek.
I am going to have hubby read it over then I will read it over again before sending it. I need it to be perfect. Then I guess the best coarse of action would be so send it certified mail right?? I feel like i should hire someone or something but i cant afford 10 bucks ugh
if you want to send it to me in email, I would be happy to make recommendations- from both the special ed teacher/ special ed parent points of view.
PM me for my email if you want.
Well the reason it got so long is because i was reading over wrightslaw and read that letter to a stranger thing. It basically said write the letter like a stranger will be reading it so they know exactly what is going on. hahaha well i sure did that. I am going to go thru and try and skim it down. I dont know how much further i can get though with out telling the whole story.
I shoudl just publish a book or something and they can buy it lol
I think Wrightslaw also says to keep it to one page. That is ALWAYS wise. Sometimes I've written a couple of single-page letters rather than one longer letter JUST to keep it to one page. Let the letter sit overnight and then go back and edit out ANYTHING extraneous. It's important to make it clear enough so that a stranger would know what's going on but brief enough so that people won't just think it's another parent blowing off steam.
