To get more services, the IEP TEam has to review the child's Present Levels of Performance. That means there needs to be some assessment of his current functioning in speech and OT. Ask to see the results of his current assessments and the therapists reports, which will include their recommendations. IF you disagree with the results of these reports, ask for an Independent Educational Evaluation at public expense. Search that term here and on www.wrightslaw.com for more info.

Ryan has his IEP meeting in April. If I am requesting more service like more ST&OT, etc. Do have have to put this is writting prior to the meeting. If so how far in advance and whom do I give it to?
