Printing programs for reluctant ASD son | Autism PDD

I don't know what would really make it fun besides BIG TIME rewards for practicing.  I don't think it is very much fun for them because writing is so hard for them.

At any rate, our OT uses Handwriting Without Tears program for teaching writing.  Here is a link:

Thanks for your reply.  I did order the 2nd grade supplies from the web site you shared with me, so now I'll have something at home to work with him.  I have spoken with his teacher about possibly using the computer as she does do some scribing for him, but he needs to write legibly (sp).  Thanks again.

Hi all,

My son is in the 2nd grade now and he must write more and more, but it is such a chore for him, especially if he has to print more than one word for his answer.  He gets frustrated and is uncomfortable when his teacher, OT, or myself ask him to write something.

I read the typing program post, but he needs to learn to write words with proper spacing and letters the right size.  He has no problems with spelling and punctuation.  I'm looking for something to make practicing his printing fun.

Thanks,

Yolanda
