Hello Shannon and all. My name is Teresa and I have 3 adopted children with Autism and assorted other labels. I just want  to let everyone know that i have a special needs cub/boyscout troop and would love to have you join us. We give each other support. I have 22 boys and most have autism.  Below is a little more about us.

Hello,
My name is Teresa . I have 3 adopted special needs children. My husband and I moved here over a year ago from Florida and started a special needs cub/boy scout pack/troop for boys ages 6- and up . It is for boys with a disability. We accept all disabilities, Mental, Developmental , Physical, and Learning Disabled also ADHD , and Autism. We currently have 22 boys. We allow the siblings to come to the meetings and if boys they too can be scouts, as long as they know they can not make fun of the Special needs boys. We do require that the parents come to the meetings and stay with the boys. We meet once a week on Monday nights and try to get together twice a month for a fieldtrip. We take the boys camping, fishing, we do crafts and learn things about the community. Because of the special needs of the children most parents don’t have a lot of extra money so we make sure that the money is not a deciding factor for these boys. We do everything a typical scout troop does we just do it at the speed, and level of our boys. We treat each boy as an individual. I am writing to ask you to please help us spread the word so more special boys can enjoy scouting.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Teresa J

Hello, my name is Amy Simmers and I am a consultant with Discovery Toys.  In case you've never heard of us, we are an educational toy company that's been around for 30 years.  Recently, we have dedicated ourselves to helping families dealing with autism.  We have created a parent support pack, which has toys specifically designed to help children in the 6 areas proved most difficult for children with autism.  Every product in our catalog has a blue puzzle piece under it with a code identifying which area it will help develop.  We want to help children with autism have a rich educational experience.  Our toys have a lifetime guarantee and are fun!  Please let me know if you would like more information or a catalog.  I would love to help!

Thanks!

Amy
