Tammy,

That must have made you a nervous wreck!!  I'm so glad they found him!!  I can't believe that the company that the pca works for didn't handle that better!!  How DARE they blame this on his behavior!!  It was their JOB to make sure that your son stay safe and not get lost!!!  I'm glad that you are filing charges!!

On a happy note.......that was HILARIOUS what he said when he seen the cop!!!  How cute!!!

Yeah Gabe has that uncanny ability to make you mad as heck at him one minute then have you rolling in laughter the next.

Tammy, sounds like Como Park Zoo, am I right??  That was one of my favorite places growing up!

Nate can frustrate the crap out of me one minute then send me rolling the next too.  Like the other day when a friend of mine was visiting w/ her 4 kids.  My 3 youngest and her 4 went outside to play, we grabbed juice boxes and were all of 2 min behind them.  When we walked outside Nate was covered head to toe in filth, we had had some bad rains and it was really muddy and wet.  He came up to us and said, "Is it ok if I get dirty and wet?"  My friend said, "Well, it's a little late for that." (while chuckling).  He replied, with a very perplexed look on his face, "Why?  What time is it?"  He only has 1 definition of the word "late".  Luckily my friend is of the same opinion as I: kids and clothes are all washable, let the kids have fun.  Normally Nate can't stand to wear wet clothes, I was just thrilled that he was purposefully getting his clothes wet, not to mention dirty.

My brother lives up in Mn and works w/ "At Risk Youth".  He administrates homes for challenged kids and I believe he also advocates for others.  He's awesome, been my hugest support w/ Nate.  It is hard though because Mn seems to offer so many programs and Fl has nothing in comparison.  His nephew on his wife's side has autism and his caseworker came out to the house, noticed her son liked to play outside but that they didn't have a fence.  So the state paid for one.  In Fl they'd just laugh at you if you even suggested that.  Oh well, I hope you've had the same experience up there!

Yes it is Como.  Unfortunately the Minnesota Zoo is just too expensive.  Everything is anymore.

Tammy

Well at least your PCA followed proper procedure. Hopefully it will teach a new relationship and understanding between the PCA and Gabe.  Im so glad through everything Gabe ended up safe. Thats the most important thing.

If I were you Tammy, I'd have gone bonkers already!

Yesterday my kids pca took them to the zoo.  Why can't both kids behave well on the same day?  Jeffrey had a pretty good day.  He was talking about the tigers and lions.  He said the lions winked at him

So when Gabe was home last evening I took him with me to the store.  And yes we did stop into Target.  I mean this kid can promise you the moon and give you a butter sandwich.  He told me if we went into Target first he wouldn't throw a fit once we left.  As we are leaving he decides he wants to go home.  I am walking one way and he is walking the other.  So I stop and I start counting , loudly.  Now people in the parking lot are staring at me but I don't care at this point.  Its MInnesota, they should be used to it.  He does come over there by me then starts complaining about his feet hurting.  So I tell him he can ride in the basket in the grocery store.  He seemed to like that idea.  So I put him in the basket.  And while I do my limited shopping, have to take the bus home here, I decide to push the basket and let go of it.  Gabe liked this.  Lol, we do this a few more times and then he sees a cop.  He says "uh oh, there's a cop, shhhhhhhhh, act natural."

Tammy

oh my gosh tammy- i dont know what i would do- mason takes off all the time and it scares my have to death. he has no fear at all. i am at the point of putting a leash on him so he wont run.

i am glad that he is ok and safe again

He is real easy to lose track of.  Last year around thanksgiving I had to take Jeffrey into the e.r. for a viral infection.  Gabe is over there by the aquarium looking at the fish.  I turn my back on him for just two minutes.  Turn around he is gone!!!!  And at that time there was an amber alert out for this girl.  Come to found out later she left with the guy on her own but didn't know that then.  All I can say is thank god that hospital has a bunch of security cameras because we found him.  He was over by the elevators.  So he does this.   And yep I had the leash with both of my kids.  It is worth a try.  Gabe got to the point where he would take it off
