Sorry you are not feeling well today!  But what a great story about your son!  Please feel free to brag often, I love hering positive and encouraging stories from other parents!

Keep up the great work with you son!!!

We went to Shawn's boyscout potluck Saturday night. He presented the flags(colorguard), volunteered to lead a song and got his first boyscout rank! I almost cried when he ceremoniously pinned me with the parent pin. Especially when he jabbed me in the boob

Only bad news was my camera was broke so I didn't get any pictures! He looked so handsome all dressed in his uniform!

What great news!!  How old is your boy?

I love to hear great news!!!  Thank you so much for sharing.

Karrie

Yeah, please, keep bragging.  I love to hear about kids living happy and functional lives when their original dx indicated that that might not be possible.  When did he start to have functional language and how is his language now?  What seemed to help him the most?Great news , Thanks for the hope

Congratulations.

Fred, He started having functioning language around 5. His ability to communicate is great now. He started out in a class for communicatively handicapped and then was moved to learning disabled. It was a great fit. I can't say enough about our school district. We never did a lot of therapy. Just did what we thought was best for Shawn. That's great to hear.  Congratulations to you and your son.Well here is an update. Shawn was not able to attend his ceremony last week for honor roll. He came down with the flu on Tuesday and was sent home from school after he vomited all over himself. He remained sick until Friday. So another big event we didn't get to go to. I was so bummed! My husband said I was much more upset than Shawn! Darn right I was! I have been waiting for this! They didn't inform the parents for some stupid reason when my oldest got honor roll and middle girl(Ashley) has no designs on good grades(little drama nut though!). So I am down right pissed that we missed it!(not at Shawny, poor kiddo). And to top it off I had to take vac time to stay home with him and now I am at work sick and don't want to use vac time to go home! Oh I am such a winer today! awe that is so great! I am happy for you for sure. My son was nonverbal until he was five... and his grades are good I just hope my story will be as happy as yours my son is only six at the moment and he has plenty of time. Thanks for the inspiration that is just what my soul needed tonight.
