I am in need of hetting an acyual diagnosis for my son - it seems that everyone I take my son to doesnt want to make a "diagnosis" because he is so young. My son is 3 1/2 and takes Adderral XR for his ADHD and then Clonidine to sleep. The problem is : he's cute apparently, he echos people and has intense energy cannot stand to be around more than 2 people at a time - covers his ears and eyes when we go into public places and always is running away from me. He sees a psychiatrist which gave him a diagnosis of ODD and ADHD and a Child Counselor gave him a diagnosis of "PDD", lord and the PSychologist I just took him to said well I can give you a diagnosis of what he doesnt have = he's just so young we cant administer alot of tests. He is NOT normal and I am getting frustrated - his speech is fine - except for the fact that he is completely MUTE around other people when I am not around and the TANTRUMS are horrendous - any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate.

SOME HAVE WAITING LISTS~ OURS DIDN'T TAKE INSURANCE SO WE GOT IN THE FOLLOWING WEEK..SO MUCH BETTER THAN UP TO 8 MONTHS OR MORE! OURS DID A 2 HOUR EVALUATION ON TOP OF OUR ONE HOUR TELLING HIM OUR WORRIES & LISTS OF CONCERNS, AND SINCE I HAD ALREADY HAD COPIES OF THE SCHOOL EVALS. SUCH AS GARS/CARS AND VINELAND, ABBLS ECT..HE ONLY CHARGED US 1/2 OF THE 0.00 TOTAL..WE GOT A THREE PAGE WRITE UP ON HER IN THE MAIL WITHIN 3 WEEKS. WELL WORTH IT TO KNOW WHAT SHE REALLY HAD INSTEAD OF CONSTANTLY GUESSING AND BEING TOLD SHE WAS FINE. MOST PEDIATRICIAN AND PROFESSIONALS ARE AFRAID TO STATE "AUTISM" I THINK BECAUSE THEY WORRY THE PARENTS EITHER CAN'T HANDLE IT OR SCARED THAT THE CHILD MAY NOT REALLY HAVE IT AND THE PARENTS SUE...NEVER HEARD OF SUCH JUST SPECULATING
