My girl goes four days a week--she stays home with me on Thursdays--and that seems to be all both of us can handle! She is 3 1/2 and attends from 7:30--1:30.
My daughter was recently diagnosed PDD, started preschool in January (just turned 3) three half days a week. She gets speech and OT at school. She is high functioning but I am wondering if she should be going 5 days a week, what about ABA? We are going to her developmental pediatrician next month and I figured I would ask then, but does anyone have any stories for me? She has done very well in school in just the short time she has gone. Increased eye contact, smiling, more social, more spontaneous language. I would appreciate any help.
My boys are 4. They are not yet diagnosed but my guess is one is mild PDD and the other is just developmentally delayed, no PDD. We moved this past October from Washington DC to Tampa Florida. They have gone full days 5 days a week in both areas. They are in a special ed classroom. It has another name but special ed is all I can think of. Is she in a mainstream classroom? They are so far behind the idea is try to get them caught up by the time they are 5. The changes in them have been remarkable. Sometimes I do wonder if its too much though cause by Friday morning they are hard to wake up and whine all the way to school. I would talk to her pedi about it and see if the school even can offer more school hours or days. 5 half days may be good without being tiring. During the summer when they went 5 half days it worked very well. Sometimes I think 5 full days are too much.
