| February 21, 2007: Disabled Students - Parents had meaningful opportunity to participate with respect to special education determination for son.
Parents had a meaningful opportunity to participate with respect to the special education determination made by the school district for their son, as required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and the placement suggested by the school district was not predetermined. In addition to being involved in the development of their son's individualized education program (IEP), the parents and their special education representative informed the school district of their specific requests, to which the school district responded to explain its different conclusions. That the parents disagreed with the placement decision did not establish a lack of meaningful participation |
