Ok, so even though I've got a realistic grip on this whole ASD thing, deep inside of me I secretly hoped that on Julians 5th birthday there would be this magical moment when it all clicked for him and he would be all better. Silly, huh? Well, I have to say that I did have a tidbit of the magic I had so wished for. This is the first birthday of his that he was actually self aware and knew it was HIS birthday and that he was now 5 years old! I asked him, do you know what today is? (we have been talking about it for a week). He said, It's julians birthday! I want cake and pizza and to play. I asked him how old are you? He said, I'm 5! All with a big self aware smile! he could hardly fall asleep he was so excited from the cake and presents. but the real party is saturday at the pizza place! LOL
