March 20, 2007: Eastern Los Angeles Family Resource Center will offer a free workshop at the

ELARC/Whittier office conference room, located at 13215 Penn St., Whittier, CA. This workshop will be from 8:30 - 1:30 p.m.  It will include information on educational rights, discussion of the IEP process, and conclude with strategies that will help parents to be their child’s best advocate. This workshop is a collaborative between The Office of Client’s Rights Advocacy, Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center, Team of Advocates for Special Kids (TASK), and the Eastern Los Angeles Family Resource Center. A one-hour clinic with the Office of Clients Rights Advocate, Matthew Pope and TASK Advocate Suzanne

Cure Autism Now's Los Angeles WALK NOW Event on Saturday, April 28. Cure Autism Now's annual WALK NOW event is coming on Saturday, April 28, 2007 to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. WALK NOW events will be held in 21 cities this year. Rally your families, friends and co-workers to put on their walking shoes and join in walking toward a common goal--to find the causes, effective treatments and a cure for autism. WALK NOW unites the community in support of those affected by autism with a noncompetitive 5K walk and community resource fair, where parents meet a variety of autism service providers and kids enjoy arts and crafts, moon bounces and other fun activities.
