Best of luck hon! I'm keeping you special in my prayers...& I'm sure it will be fine!!!...Like Renee's experiences, I have friends who went through similar situations, being induced because the fluid was being reabsorbed...and the baby was just fine...I know its hard for you, so just try to relax hon! and on a side note... (good for you for taking off those 40 lbs...gesh, I'm still 25 away from my prebaby weight and my guy is 4 1/2 LOL...hope that made you smile...cuz it makes me wanna cry LOL...)
Take care!
big hugs,
ali
Kellie Hang in there! You are in our thoughts and prayers. Please keep us updated!!! You have been under a great deal of stress..... Maybe you are losing weight as the baby is gaining? I THOUGHT 25 pounds was average suggested weight to gain during a pregnancy? (I know i gained MUCH more than that with my last 2 kids LOL) but if thats the case,.... 21 pounds isnt too far off. When is your ultrasound scheduled for?AHH if only I oculd have only gained 25 lbs in either pregnancy. I always lost weight with each one (20 with the first and 18 with the second) and then gained it all back and then 3-4x's more as I swelled and swelled and swelled.
As for hieght, as it was explained to me both times when mine stayed still/dropped, it is only an indicator and not very reliable for actual size, problems etc. There are many things that can affect it, like the baby dropping into your pelvic region etc. I, in fact, lost 2-3 inches after my youngest dropped at 35 weeks. Though, the OB should take precautions sort of as a just in case sort of thing (I got an ultra sound the first pregnancy, they didn't do anything the second time because they were inducing me anyways)
UGH pregnancy...don't remind me..LOL
Due in August over here. I am envious of you guys that are farther along than I am!!! With every pregnancy to include this one I start getting the braxton hicks contractions at 5 months along. And as I get bigger....the harder they are!! I hate those things..LOL During my first pregnancy i mistook it for labor god knows how many times

Good Luck Kelli and you other
expectant moms!! What an exciting and precious time
this is in your life.....even if your are feeling miserable! I
had lost and then gained about 50 lbs with my 1st.....I couldn't keep
anything down most of the time so most of the weight was water weight
and I lost just about 50 lbs before I left the hospital after delivery!
Phew!! What a feeling that was! I
gained with my 2nd and never lost it. When #3 was born
the nurses in delivery were concerned because I had only gained 13
lbs......but all was well......Jacob weighed over 8 lbs!!I have actually had both of these things happen. With child number one..I had gotten smaller! They figured I was reabsorbing amniotic fluid. I got to go straight from the appt. to the delivery room (about 2 weeks early). They induced me and the baby was fine! Baby number 2 they measured, and thought the baby had stopped growing..they did an ultrasound and declared everything fine...that was at 32 weeks and went on for a normal delivery at 40 weeks....so chances are..everything is fine and you will go one to have a perfect, beautiful baby in a just a little while. Best of luck to you and your baby!
cyber hugs, Renee
Kelli,
I'm sure everything is fine and they are just being cautious... if they were that worried hun they would of taken you right in and induced you like nene said they did with her.... You are far enough along and considered full term (which I know you know *laughs) that if they thought something was serious or iminant they would just take the baby right now. Heh, I'm sitting here CLAWING the walls waiting for this baby to get here... I'm 37 1/2 weeks but I've been having fake/pre-term labor for 2 weeks now and I'm very sick of it and just want to get it over with.... These "fake" contractions don't feel too fake to me. Don't worry to much hun... keep us updated.
Kellie,
I personally have never had a problem with weight loss or not gaining. Just the oppisite.
But my sister had the same news at 38 or 39 weeks. She was a 16 y/o first time mom and they were upsetting her telling her they needed to take the baby right away because he was only 5 lber. She had a noninduced labor 2 weeks later and had a healthy 8lb. 10oz. baby boy. So don't let them stress you. But please keep us updated babies are so exciting!
You people are wonderful. It makes me feel MUCH better to hear
that others have been through the same and everything turned out
fine. I will be thinking about you Kellie-let us know the outcome.
dont get tooooo worried until you find out what is going on.
Yeah, Michelle, I think 25 pounds is what's considered a healthy weight
gain in pregnancy, but I'm 5'10" and I guess I figured that since I'm
taller, maybe I should have put on closer to 30lbs? I don't
know. It wasn't for lack of trying!
(especially the past few weeks!)
Sarah ... I totally hear you with the "false contractions"
complaint! That's how I was with Luke. It was
horrible! I haven't had anything like that yet with this baby,
but trust me ... I'm looking forward to being through with the
pregnancy! I've been wearing my husband's shirts everyday be/c I
refuse to buy maternity clothes!
Ali ... yes, that made me smile.
I was lucky though; after Luke was born, like within a week I'd lost 25
pounds and then it took another 1&1/2 yrs to lose the next 15 (I
highly recommend Jazzercise!).
If I don't post anything from Thursday onward, you'll know I've been induced!
Kellie
I know this is a forum for autism, but I kind of feel like I need to
vent about the other big issue in my life ... I'm 39 weeks
pregnant. Went to the OB this a.m. and they're concerned be/c my
tummy hasn't grown in about 3 weeks and I haven't gained any weight in
the same amount of time. (I gained 21 pounds so far with this
pregnancy ... with Luke I gained 40 [but lost it].) So now they
want to do an ultrasound be/c they're worried that I may be leaking
fluid and/or that the baby isn't growing well.
So now I'm rather worried. Just what we need ... MORE stress!
Has anyone had this experience? What was the result, if so?
Kellie
