Janette is the founder and director of Social Solutions, a private clinic in Yuba City, CA through which she provides individual and group social emotional skills training, school assessments and program development, and other consulting services. She has co-developed an innovative drama program designed to teach social emotional skills through the use of theater arts. Janette is the author of the best-selling book, Navigating the Social World: A Curriculum for Individuals with Asperger's Syndrome, High-Functioning Autism and Related Disorders. Dr. McAfee's practical, hands-on programs are used throughout the United States and abroad by parents, school districts, universities and private practitioners in the fields of speech, language pathology, psychology and special education. Dennis Debbuadt, the proud father of Brad, a young man who has autism, wrote the groundbreaking booklet Avoiding Unfortunate Situations in 1994, the first ever look at the interaction between children and adults with autism and law enforcement professionals. He has since written frequently on the topic including the book, Autism, Advocates and Law Enforcement Professionals; Recognizing and Reducing Risk Situations for People with Autism Spectrum Disorders and articles for the FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin and Sheriff Magazine. He consulted on ABC News 20/20 for the segment, A simple Man, about autism and false confession and was instrumental in the development of the state of Maryland's Police and Correctional training Commission's 1999 curriculum "Why Law Enforcement Needs to Recognize Autism." A professional investigator for 27 years, Dennis turned his attention to providing autism recognition response and risk management training to law enforcement agencies in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
