I haven't heard about it but I would think if they determined that ASD's were not severe enough for special education that it would in turn eventually phase them out of other special programs like SSI and medicaid waiver programs and such.  I mean if they determine they shouldn't pay for se for Autistic individuals why would they be willing to pay for anything else?

I wonder if autism will be considered sevear?  My guess is yes.  What about aspergers or pdd-nos?  Anyone else hear about this?

Do your se director happen to tell you what would be considered sevear disability?NO SHE DID NOT. MY GUESS IS LIKE CP.Things with them will not get better just worse. They plan to only allow se for severe disability in the near future. Confirmed by our past Se directer as true. I think a ploy to save money. bump

Is this in just the state you live in or is it gonna be kinda like a ripple effect?

This is scary!!!

It would have to be federal law, wouldnt it?

Do you know if a bill has been entered for discussion?

Federal laws can't simply be changed, it takes time and there are no BIG changes happening in the NEAR future.
