We have every type of swing we can mangage to put in our yard or house!
Well my guy would not even go near a swing until about 2 months ago. We started with a hard bucket swing because it gave him the feeling of stability and control. I have heard though that many people have success with platform swings because it is not confining -- just depends what type of muchkin you have. We are currently trying to work up to the soft swings. Based on his reaction -- I think it still may be a while.......
It's funny that the topic of swings is up because I was just chatting with the ST the other day that I thought my younger sister (26) should be on the spectrum because ever since she was very little she was obsessed with swinging. Even as a teenager, she would go and swing on my little brothers swingset with her stereo blaring for hours on end. To this day, when she attends birthday parties at the park, she quickly picks up a kid and heads to the swings! I told her about that and she laughed. She also, even as an adult has certain movies she was/is obsessed with and has seen literally thousands if not tens of thousands of times. Dirty Dancing, Grease, all the Freddy Krueger's and a couple of others here and there. She would also watch them all the way through the credits.
