Music Instruments for XmasMy chap loves music and I wanted to give him a medium sized guitar (not too big, not too small). He always mimics my friend's dd mutilated guitar. Another friend of mine told me that her child plays the violin and that piqued my interest too. He has a keyboard and I want to throw that thing out of the window because every time it comes on it says LET'S DO IT NOW!!!!![]() Enough ranting...are you getting your young ones any musical instruments??? I had to toss out the kazoos someone gave my kids recently, lol, I am sure you can imagine the hours of fun we were having. My sister found a cool musical instrument set at Target. It came with 5-6 different things. All of our kids play with it and love it. My daughter gets all the pieces and tries to play them all at once, she uses her toes, its great. First Act makes a couple small size guitars for kids that are well constructed and play true to form. Toys R Us carries this line.We have one of those mini guitars that Chase plays with along with daddy. It sounds pretty good too.
Chase also is using the world as his drumset daily. My brother had a snare drum that he played for a little while so my mom found it and he'll get that for Christmas. I bought a set "fun in a drum" before we found my brother's old one. I'm not sure if I'm keeping it or not though, but I know Anna and Chase will just freaky fight over it... We also have a piano that I got for $40 last year. I had a friend find one on Craig's list and we had to pay to have it delivered here. Its an older one that was in a school so it doesn't have the typical amount of keys, it has something like 10 less? Chase LOVES it! He plays on the piano daily. Its very interesting the music he makes up, rarely does he just bang on the keys. I second the "first act" brand instruments. Jasper has a drumset (I know, Iknow..I'm insane.. ) a guitar, and an accordian from this company.
They are all reasonable (comparatively) The best part is You can really learn to play them. You can tune them and learn all the instument basics. They come with instruction booklets to learn basic chords or beats. If your kid shows a real interest or talent at it, you can invest in the real deal later. Taeget and Toys r Us both carry this line. Happy shopping.Anthony's has the Blue Man Group keyboard that they show on television commercials on his Christmas list. He gets very excited when he talks about it. My parents bought it for him. I can't wait to see the look on his face when he opens it! |
