I feel sorry that it has not worked for them because doing the DAN protocol through a DAN doctor has been a very miraculous and positive experience for my children. I wonder when he wrote the article. For if it was in the late 90s and early 2000 where the focus was very strongly on the mercury toxicity, it could be that was not the problem with his child.
As each year passes, more and more research is done and more and more information is provided as to the different alternative treatments to autism. Each child has a different treatment under the DAN protocol because it is catered to their child. I have recently learned that my ds is not toxic in heavy metals, but that his autism may be more immune related. My dd has heavy metals toxicity which we are chelating right now and we believe that she also has immune related problems like ds. All I can say is that it has worked for us and my kids are doing very very well. Lugging around the 40lbs of food, supplements and medicaions when we travel, mixing everything into their foods and drinks and logging all their progresses is worth the time, money and energy DH and I spend on this. They are our babies and we want them healthy:)
