my son has a sport ball slightly deflated that he uses all the time to stim and he gets exercise too.Great ideas ... thank you for sharing!

Kellie
jordon does karate to help keep him calm and gives him exercise. good luck the rubber chewy thing sounds like a good ideaMegan has a chewy necklas that she wears every day, surgical tubing cut into pieces about 2-3 inches long on a string.. She uses it alot. better than chewing on stuff lord knows where it has been.. At least this i can wash..I talked to Gavin's ST today about the problem we have been having
with Gavin's extremely loud verbal stimming and thought I'd share
her ideas with all of you.

1. Get a tight spandex shirt (like a swim shirt) to let him wear in
stressful situations to give him some input in his chest (she said the
loud humming may actually be helping him get input there...who
would have guessed that one?)
2. Give him a chewy tube (rubber tube you can buy from ST to give
oral input) when you notice him getting louder than you like
3. Buy a beach ball and inflate it only slightly to let him sit on it and
get input to calm him down when he is stressed or bored.

I haven't tried any of these yet, so I'll let you know if they work.
