Thanks for the advice.
My thing is whenever we get Jared home he runs down the hall and into his room where he turns on his TV and his DVD player. (OK EVERYONE DON'T YELL AT ME FOR SPOILING HIM) He watches Veggie Tales and loves to songs and he of course loves watching all the Pixar movies. We recently got him "The Letter Factory" I think it's by Leap Frog it teachs the letters and the sound each letter makes and he loves it. He's been picking up a bunch of letters and their sounds.
I'm not sure he gets their meaning, but he's at least repeating the sound, which is an improvement over nothing.
I think I'll take your advice and go search EBAY to see if I can find some of these videos there.
Thanks again.
Hey Jared's Dad, i bought the tapes but my son didn't show any interest in them but i 've heard from other parents on the board that the tapes did wonders for their kids, many of whom began to read at a very young age because of them. I tried finding old posts to pull without any luck but I'm sure you'll hear form others soon. my recommendation, start with one tape and see if he responds to it i bought the whole set and ended up giving it to another family. you can find them alittle cheaper on ebay. Just keep in mind that what works for one child may not work for another.I would love to hear how autistic children react to these. I have heard some good reviews about them, but my concern is that Levi does not like looking at books about babies or interacting with his baby sister or 4 year old brother.
Yet...he does like GO BABY on Disney and he likes Tin Toy the animated short on Toy Story with an animated baby. So maybe????
They were reccommended to me buy a number of parents. I just bought 2 of them, and Owen is afraid of the womens voice
Owen LOVES baby Einstein movies, that is all he will watch except Buh Bahs. They talk in them some, and he hasn't picked anything up..this is a little different, I hope it works
Has anyone here tried these videos??
