I have read a lot of articles that promote Omega-3 supplements for EVERYONE, but when I first got nutritional advice from my Dr. re: my son's ADHD symptoms he recommended a DHA Blend/Omega-3 supplement. Make sure its a pharmaceutical grade--not a Walmart brand. The cheaper brands don't test for "purity" or mercury levels. My son takes a double dose of Coromega--it's an orange pudding that is pretty good & doesn't have the after taste. Our whole family's on it because it supposedly has other benefits. (Heart, Brain, Eyes, Joints)
Hi,
My husband came home today after doing some research and said that our son might be lacking in Omega 3 and that if we supplement it might improve some of his behaviors.
This is the first I have heard about it. We have not seen any Dr's to confirm/deny that our son has any vitamin/nutritional deficiencies.
If you are supplementing is it something that you started on your own? Is there any concerns with mercury traces in Omega 3.
Appreciate any advice.
Thanks
jcan

I would not give him anything with mercury traces no way not in my life time again there are some things that he could be l;acking but he can get tested for that

Another brand you can try is Nordic Naturals DHA Jr. You can get it in a liquid or chewable capsules in berry or strawberry flavors. THe great thing about this brand is that the fish flavor is completely removed. A lot of children love them. They also have another brand called Berry Keen.
