hey amber, i just read your blog, great job on it. i must comend you for writing everything down, that's great so you can refer to it later if need be.is he going to be evaluated?you might have already answered this, if so sorry. take care and keep us posted on aiden.mom2carlo
Well...I've done a couple things. First of all, besides what you all see on the blog, I have a huge binder filled to the max w/ info and printouts from inet and this board. Also tests that I've taken online. So ds has his 2 yr doc appt Thurs. I plan to bring in the info you see on the blog and maybe one test I took and have doc take it to read later and then get back to me. He's a great doc, but no idea what he'll think or do from there or if he'll even think I'm not crazy. lol. I also found a phone num on google search which you call for dx'ing autism in my state of SD. They are sending me paperwork to fill out. Then I send it back to them across the state and they then set up someone to come to me for further discussion or evaluation or whatever. But I'm not sure he has autism. Especially w/ how young he is and how new almost all signs are (most in last 2 mths) I think pdd is the most he is. At least for now. He progresses for the better every week and also tends to do something new that is "odd" every week lol. So anyway, I just wait and see what everyone says.

Sally,
I got the site from Michelle. It was free and very quick. I think the site you go to is www.blogger.com. I hope the st continues to get better for your dd. I sit in on aiden's sessions too.

Hey Amber I know its been hard to find resources in South Dakota so I thought maybe this link would help its state specific. http://www.yellowpagesforkids.com/help/sd.htm Anyone can go to this page and pick their state from a drop down menu to help find resources!THANK YOU
Wow. I could have written the same blog about my son, Leo. They
Hi Amber I just want you to know that Aiden sounds so much like my son Nick did at 2yrs of age. We did not unfortunetly get his dx until he was 4 I just thought that it was because he was a boy and because he was spoiled!!! Something that everyone kept telling us. Anyhow Nick did not get the innervension until this past year and he has overcome alot he to would not sit still for a book only to look at pics. and also horded balls and would freak out if we went anyplace that had balls or balloons!! He had oh... a collection of 20 balls at 2 yrs of age!! Hence why they all said he was spoiled!!! What I am trying to say here is even though they have asd they do kind of out grow some of the behaviors Nick loves me to read him books now that he is 5. I know that going to school had done alot for him!! But I look back at when he was 2 and remember how difficult he was. So keep plugging along with him and don't let it all get the best of you!!! It will get better especially with you getting a dx early on! There is light at the end of the tunnel with lots of hard work and love!!
Amber, I just checked out your blog and was very impressed. Good for you. It's great that you've found a healthy outlet for your anxiety, worries and to help sort things out. I think the site looks great. I'm curious how you set it up. Do you have to pay for it? When my dd started ST I "stole" your idea of documentation and have been keeping a journal of sorts of what she does in ST (I sit in on her sessions with her) and what we're working on language wise and good sentences she says and any general comments I want to make about what's going on with her. Mine is mostly about her progress - what I see her doing more of, etc. but I can also write my concerns and get them out of my head for a bit. I hope one day I'll look back on it wistfully, with a "ah, I remember when I was worried and it turned out to be nothing and now she won't shut up" type of thing. You never know. I feel like you and I are sorta in the same stage dx wise, trying to figure everything out and determine what's "normal" what's not, etc. good job with the blog, that's all I really wanted to say...........
Amber
WOW Amber that was quick! I will red through it more as I have some free time. GOOD JOB!What a good way to lay everything out and get your thoughts together. Down the road you'll be reading it and commenting on all the progress Aiden has made!
Kellie
That's the plan stan!
