I'm new here, but not new to autism or message boards. I have a 10 yo son whose official diagnosis is PDD-NOS. He got that label because on the day he was evaluated he made eye contact with this really goofy nurse, LOL. A few weeks later as he continued to regress, he wasn't making eye contact with anyone; so who knows what label he'd have gotten then. Through early intervention and education, he has come a long way. I think if he were dx'd today, he'd still be PDD-NOS, but only because he doesn't have the self-help skills that a child with Asperger's would have. He's come a long way.
Anyway, I'll keep it short and sweet for now. I've scanned some of your posts and look forward to getting to know you all better.

I know I'm late with that, so sorry, but just wanted to give you a proper "welcome". My name is Linda, I'm a 40 y/o sahm of three kids, ages... 24 y/o, 16 y/o & 9 y/o. Our 9 y/o Son Tony is HFA (High Functioning Autism). He's in a "regular" school & a "regular" classroom. He gets taken out of his classroom & goes to the "resource room" for help in reading, writing & math comprehension. He's a fun loving affectionate lil guy who loves to sing, dance & make people laugh. I also have two Grandchildren by my oldest Daughter, they are 5 y/o & a month & a half . I know you'll LOVE this board, if you don't already! I look forward to getting to know you better!
