I didnt care for it... but realize my parents didnt care for 6 ear piercings on each side of my ears either... shes an individual and she needs to express herself. You're right better than drugs and rinking and other illegal activity
I'm going to be going on chelation soon and I also want a tongue ring. My mom said I Can't take any Pills or supplments that have iron. Will I still be able to get a tongue ring? By the way I have been on the scd for almost a year
Hi Matt! Welcome! I would suggest calling the tatoo body piercing place and asking them WHAT the tongue ring is made out of, then asking the dr doing the chelaton if it is acceptable. Good luck with your treatmentMatt, you are brave to get a tongue ring! I'm WAY too chicken for that, although I did get my belly button pierced about 4 years ago. I've started wondering what it is going to look like in 20 years when my stomach is sagging! [Good motivation to do lots of situps, huh?] Are you set on a tongue ring? Because you could probably get something else pierced that wouldn't interfere with chelation. I'm not sure medically how that works. [Your mother will probably kill me for this!!!] The rule at my house is that you can tatoo or pierce anything that doesn't show with a business suit on. That way, when it's time to find THE job, you can earn lots of cash during the week and spend it on the weekend while sporting your piercing or tatoo! Just a thought. Good Luck! If you go ahead, let me know if it hurts REALLY bad or just a little. Since I am a lawyer, however, I can spring for the tongue piercing - might interfere with my closing arguments!

Hi Matt welcome to the board.... I have a tongue ring *smiles* as does my husband.... I've also had my eyebrow pierced twice... and various other parts *smiles*. I also have 6 tattoos and will be getting another one right after I have the baby that will cover my whole back. I know that the piercer can pierce you with a silver needle and use a Titanium Barbell.... from what I know Titanium is pure and undestructable... once it's formed it can't even be melted back down.... I know this cause my husbands wedding ring is Titanium and you have to have it specially made to fit just right. But Michelle is right.... call the piercing place (sure you know this but... *smiles* make sure it's reputable and steril) and ask them what kind of needle they will be using and if they are willing to use a Titanium barbell on you....you can explain to them why you are asking the questions, I'm sure the piercer will be more than understanding. Any piercer worth his salt will not touch you if they think it is unsafe for your health.... same with a tat artist.... Keep that in mind when choosing who you go to.
GOD! You people are making me want another tat sooo bad! I have 4 and they are so addictive! I want to get my lebrae pierced (under the bottom lip) but I'm a scaredy cat. Although the tats were enjoyable... I have a high pain tolerance depending on my mood... I had 10 gauge hoops for a while in my ears and that was NOT enjoyable. It's nice to see people with modern viewpoints. I hate when parents freak out about stuff like that. I figure it could be a lot worse. I would rather my kid experiment with hair, etc than drugs, etc...
