Hi -

Anyone tried the Diflucan for fungal overgrowth, by itself, or combined with Valtrex (anti-viral)? We saw Stan Kurtz's Dan Conference video presentation, and in the video of his autistic child we saw OUR son.  It hit us so hard that we wanted to know more about what he did, as his son is now recovered fully from autism. He did the Diflucan and Valtrex combo for 9 months, and his son came back.  He has a school in CA with over a 1000 families doing this same approach, and having great success.  I talked with him and he said to get our son on Diflucan as soon as possible, and to drop all carbs too.

Our son DOES have yeast and fugus problems, and we've been seeing one of the more "holistic" DAN doctors for almost a year, and still have the same issues. I don't feel like we are "hitting it" hard enough, in regards to killing these bad guys in my son's body. We've tried this non-invasive route, and I think it's time to try some more intense things. Our DAN doc probably won't prescribe this med for us...ugh.  Maybe our ped will?

Does anyone have experience with these meds? If so, how did it go?  How long were you on them, and were there side effects?

Thanks in advance -

Valerie

Valerie,

We tried a 3 week trial of Diflucan for our child with the Methyl B12 Nasal Spray. She did so well that we now have the Valtrex we are adding on board and will keep you posted. Her teachers noticed increased focus and on task without prompts. We notice more phrases and eye contact, so we have to try the Valtrex.

How do you go about getting the nasal spray. I was also impressed with Kurtz claims and saw many of the same traits in my dd. I found the spray has been approved by the FDA and now is available by script for many conditions.

I don't have money for biomedical treatment and am getting guidance on possibilities from another local parent that is getting the direct treatment.

FYI-Valtrex is an anti-viral and most commonly used for Herpes virus, but has anyone consider a correlation between Herpes and autism? I have a horrible case of simplex 1 I contracted as a child through my NOSE. It attacks my entire nasal passages and into my throat. IN addition, it has spread in the last year to my mouth. It's so bad that I can barely breath at times and take Zovirax for breakouts. Many people have a misguided belief about Herpes and in fact, those things you call "cold sores" in your mouth ARE Herpes. In fact, it's believed 80% of the population is infected with some form of the Herpes virus and both can be genital. HOWEVER, simplex 2 is more commonly viewed as an STD and very difficult to control at times. Valtrex is more effective with simplex 2 and zovirax for simplex 1. I've spent years studying this, as it has greatly impact my life. I've been emotionally scarred by the name calling when I get this gross "rash" on my nose and it has been very painful as well. CA typically test for each simplx during your initial blood panel in your 1st trimester. That's how I knew for sure it was simplex 1 and not 2.

Has any research been done with Zovirax and autism?

Just wanted to give my opinion and personal experience.
