My son is now 9, and these are his stims throughout the years.
Can you add to this list??
water stim - constantly play with cups of water, or water faucet, or water in bubble bath.
laughing stim - non stop laughing until he cries from not being able to control it
verbal stim - just noises made before falling asleep
physical stim - playing with a piece of hair around his forehead. this one he has done since birth.
smelling stim - rubbing behind his ears and smelling.

Rubbing his ties when excited...It does not seem nice ...We ask him to squeeze his legs instead which at least does not seem that bad

Jumping, standing on his head, rubbing/feeling my finger nails, chewing his finger and toenails, sniffing like he has a cold when he doesn't, rolling pretzel sticks on his cheek, are just a couple off the top of my head that my son has done over the years in addition to what you listed.
My sons stims seem to change about every 4-6 weeks, so there are a lot more that he has done over the years that I haven't listed.

Jeez, there have been so many. Right now there are 5-6 that happen simultaneously:
- lifting his shirt up and exposing his nipples and belly - lifting up his left pant leg, lifting his knee and looking at it, bumping it, and/or licking it - presenting his left hand (to himself) studying it suddenly - playing with the dried skin on the webbing of his fingers - suddenly squatting down on the floor and either touching his forehead to the ground or licking it - suddenly and spastically waving his left arm while locking and unlocking his elbows and wrists. - running to and fro whenever he's agitated or upset, sometime leading: - knocking over things that are standing tall, near the edge of a counter/tabletop or leaning against something - biting/pinching/spitting at people when he's upset/frustrated even if they've done nothing to provoke him
I'm wondering if it's partly because of the medication we have him on and if it's also coinciding with emerging OCD. He gets frustrated if he's denied many of his stims or if he wants to skip/repeat steps in tasks (espeically water-related ones) such as hand washing, using the potty (flushes a LOT) and putting dishes (full of untouched food) into the sink with a loud crash.

hand flapping, eye blinking, running up and down the hallway, jumping, laughing non stop for no reason, squeeling, sniffing (this happened after he had a cold..after the cold was gone he kept sniffing for a month), making grunting sounds when he ate (only happened for a few weeks), he is constantly moving, he has licked some as well but I don't if that was a stim...he would just lick someone out of the blue. I am sure there have been more.

Facial - Shuts his eyes whenever we expect something of him.
Verbal - Repeats: "myna, myna, myna...."
Physical - Head bangs, opens and closes doors, goes up and down steps, stacks and unstacks boxes, throws balls, throws mulch.
Here is the question, though. If he can be distracted and re-directed with someting as simple as a cookie, is it really a stim?
