Parker loves taco meat. In fact, it's one of the few things he will eat right now. We have to make a big pan of it, cool it off, and put it in freezer bags for him. I freeze it so he can have his taco meat for at least 2 meals a day. I know this isn't healthy, but I can't get him to eat much else. Here is his list, since he's recovered from getting sick. He ate more things prior to being sick.

Taco meat
Nalley chili with cheese
Pepperoni
Salami
Strawberries
a few McDonald's french fries. (Only the ones without the pointy ends)
certain hot dogs, no bun
Hershey bar

This is his food list right now. Can you imagine how hard this is for me to feed him. I worry constantly about his health. I am so hoping he goes back to some of his old foods he liked. Hopefully we can introduce them back to him slowly.

Wow, that's restrictive.  Will he drink anything healthy?  My mom used to mix cheese in taco meat - maybe then you could sneak in some dairy.  He seems to like spicy.  I wish I had some great ideas, but I'm sure someone will respond soon with some good advice.  I do see some protein and a good fruit in his list - that's a start!  Dooder wouldn't touch a strawberry.  Good luck!

Your son seems to enjoy foods with intense flavors. My son loves this kind
of flavors so what I do is try to sneak some healthy stuff into his breakfast in
the morning. He eats mostly purees so I mash veggies and fruit like
blueberries and bananas, put the usual insane amount of honey he likes and
sprinke everything with cinnamon to cover up any traces of healthy food

I just got told NO MORE OREOS IN MY LUNCH!  Ack.

So today she got a TB burrito (bean and cheese, no onion or sauce), and an APPLESAUCE!  And that was NOT ENOUGH FOOD.  But nothing else we had would work, either.  And then she had a fit that I would not cut up an apple for her lunchbox???

I was about to recommend a book for you, but does anything really help?  Other than to commiserate?

T at 7 yrs, 47 inches, is 39 lb!  She DOES follow the height chart in parallel though.

Her little sister, 4 (and STILL skinny-lookin'!) is 37 lb and a LOT shorter!

Jeeze, ya around that age I can remember really puttin up a fight when it came to many foods, often TOTALLY turned off my eather the smell, the site, and of course texture.

Around 6-7 I grew taller and noticibly really skinny. I maintained this skinnyness to this day. So I really hope you can figure out a way to get him to eat more, because I dont think I grew right nobody I know is as skinny as I am tho I am very healthy, never sick, have lots of energy and feel pretty strong, I have to be for my job.

I do have some light at the end of the tunnel for ya. Around the teen years I changed alot as far as eating and all, I started wanting different varietis of food cause around this time I was finally noticing that I ate so much different from anyone else that I would feel all weird sitting at a table at a family reunion, or picknic, or whatever and have people or family pick on me constantly for not eating normally. So I would try stuff like a hamburger which i never ate befor prior (off the grill anyways) and enjoyed that, and as I was growing up I would become increasingly hungry, and so I would raid my parents fridge looking for leftovers, and their wasnt always any, so I was forced to choose something I normally would not eat, and shocked my parents when I would eat that stuff and start finally liking it.

Ya, I truly beleive having the kind of restrictive diet I had from about 4-14 or so caused me to not grow right, or have a super metabolism, whatever the case years from now I think things will change, and for multyple reasons!

My youngest son went through a period of being even more picky, but is getting better again.  He has been into hot chocolate, so we let him have a marshmallow in it if he tries anything outside his usual repertoire.  Tonight he ate quite a few green beans!

I also noticed that your list was full of spicy foods.  You might try and use spice as a bridge to new foods.

BB used to eat everything and for the past 8 months he has been major picky.
It has always been a healthy, Organic diet, but we are getting frustrated.

No more meat except hot dogs.  Organic, Trader Joes ones only.  If we try any others...no way.

Kidney Beans
Black Beans
All Fruits
Some GF/CF chips, crackers, cereals.
Hummus
Rice Bread
Organic Peanut Butter and Sunflower Butter
Rice Cream (Ice Cream substitute)
Sometimes if we are lucky he will do the GF pasta (Brown Rice).

GF/CF brownie mixes

There are a few other things, but that is about it.

He loves to sit and eat Chips and Hummus with me.

Thing is...he LOVES to eat.  I am hoping this is a growth spurt.

my nt little brother would only eat

-hot dogs
-pizza
-chicken nuggets

at almost 16 he still won't eat pasta, salmon, etc... but he's branched out a little..just wanted to say you aren't alone.. and if he won't eat other foods its not like you can hold him down! hey, you got strawberries in there.. that's a fruit!

I'm a newbie,  but have you tried using Nestle Carnation Instant Breakfast shakes??  We started using them about 5 years ago when my DS was 4yo and we've been drinking them every AM since then.  We are big chocolate fans, and we also add peanut butter, so there is extra protein (not to mention the added flavor ).  There is also a flavorless protein powder that you can add to any meal you make.  It doesn't expand the child's pallette but it ensures they get the extra protein they need for growing.  My kids swear by the new Nutripals granola bars and shakes too.

Hope this helps

My son is also a picky eater.  He has added a lot more foods in the last year though.   His list is:   tuna sandwiches (my parents own a tuna company and only can the little ones so very low mercury),   peanut butter and breadsticks,  cheese, yogurt, cookies, crackers,  dinosaur chicken nuggets,  Mcdonalds cheeseburgers and fries, pancakes (only the mini ones), arbys roast beef sandwich, canned pears, cereal, fruit roll ups.   Last year he only ate about 1/2 these.  He just started asking for things he sees his brother eating.
